Village Tech
CEO/Superintendent
David Williams is the Superintendent/CEO of Village Tech Schools and one of the founding team members. Village Tech, located in Cedar Hill, TX, is an open enrollment, public charter school serving approximately 730 students in grades PK- 10. At the heart of Village Tech are great teachers. Village Tech utilizes design thinking strategies to develop students who create solutions with a goal of becoming leaders in their colleges, careers and communities. Mr. Williams graduated from Duncanville High School and later returned to teach high school geography and creative writing. He was named the Region 10 Teacher of the Year in 2011 for his efforts in the classroom. One unique aspect of his educational leadership is student travel. He led educational tours to nine different countries on three continents and saw first hand the dramatic impact travel had on students’ lives. He continues to serve the Best Southwest through public education and believes that this region has all of the tools to transform education in the state of Texas and beyond. He also served on the Educational Advisory Board for the International Museum of Cultures as well as the Board of Directors for the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce until February 2016. His goal for Village Tech is to re-imagine the possibilities for public education and redefine what school can do for and with kids. Through great teachers, he wants to see students learning who they are, learning things that last and learning that they belong. This foundation of character, challenge and community will equip them for success in college, career and civic life.
