Little People have Big Ideas: Implementing a Social Justice Lens in Elementary

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

Our children are exposed to media and language that is fueled by bigotry and hate on a daily basis. It is our moral obligation to create a safe space where conversations about race, gender, class, and immigration can be discussed with civility. This session is designed to help elementary school educators develop a social justice curriculum for their classrooms. Participants will exit with a plan for teaching social justice in their classrooms. Participants will learn by sharing collective best practices of social justice work in our schools. Educators will collaborate and develop an idea for adding social justice lens to their previous work or future projects. We hope to encourage educators to spark a sense of justice and action in schools.
