Limited Capacity filling up

The purpose of this session will be to dive deeper into the misconceptions around blended learning, and the stereotype that students and families are ‘disengaged’ from the learning in a blended environment. The presenters will describe the blended model as it pertains to our learning environment and the steps we take to ensure parent interaction, student participation and building a positive community (applicable to all learning modalities). Presenters will discuss the research aligned with the relationship focus and ‘soft skills’ continuum and identify the 5C’s (Collaboration, Character, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Creativity) within our program that help make the connection to all facets of our learners. The participants will participate in interactive tasks and activities to further identify the ‘human element’ relationships and how to build the capacity in teachers and students to be ‘present’ in the classroom, whether or not in a virtual or face to face space. Participants will be able to take away strategies to increase relationships, and connections to the 5C’s within their learning environments.
