Limited Capacity full

Need a professional learning reset? Do you want to take your school or team’s professional learning to the next level? Dedicated time for professional learning (PL) can be a powerful experience for teacher practice and student outcomes. Yet, many PL experiences end up falling flat because they fail to meet the needs of the teachers in the room-they are content heavy when teachers need social-emotional learning support, they rely on an expert to present information when teachers need to talk to and make connections with one another, there’s no time for teachers to reflect. There is never time for teachers to reflect! In this Deep Dive with the UChicago Consortium on School Research, teacher leaders, professional learning designers, and teachers looking to influence their school or team’s professional learning will participate in deep reflective experiences and create tools that are relevant and responsive to their school or team’s needs. Participants will build on their own and each others’ experiences, strengths, and expertise as teachers to transform their professional learning and ultimately create deeper learning environments for students. This session will include: knowledge-building interviews, cross-school connections, student input, time to digest and tinker with new ideas, and feedback from peers. Participants will leave with a tool of their own creation.
