Limited Capacity full

If the train leaves at 8:45, and is heading northeast.. stop. Enough with using made-up, low-stakes problems as a way for students to prove mastery. If our students are to make the world a more vibrant, equitable, and sustainable place for everyone, they need real opportunities to solve real problems that affect their community right now. By working with local partners, students are able to use their skills and knowledge, solve authentic challenges their partners face, and grow as students, professionals, and people. It’s time to dissolve the walls of the classroom and immerse students in the world they’ll come to create. During this session, educators will undergo this exact process – partnering with a local organization, using a problem solving framework to address a real challenge their partner faces, and formulate a tested solution. The result? Educators equipped to cultivate resilience and self-efficacy in their students and elevate them as stakeholders in their communities, ready to tackle today’s problems today.
